In the past year alone the FoodBank has distributed over 10 million pounds of food. One in ten residents of the counties of Monmouth and Ocean have received food from the FoodBank. Over 40% of those receiving meals are children and the elderly. Almost 132,000 people received food and other services last year alone.
The FoodBank’s Executive Director, Carlos Rodriguez notes that, “The high cost of living in our state makes it difficult for low-income people to make ends meet, and poverty rates have increased significantly. The FoodBank counts on donations to help fill the growing need by our area residents and families.”
